The Menno-Reesor House

The Menno-Reesor House. 14″ x 11″. Acrylic on Pine. 2020.

Old farm houses hold so much wonder for me. I’m not quite sure what it is, but the combination of old architecture, hard wood paneling and open land around them that just pulls me in. I get to spend some time in one of these old houses during my weekly volunteer shifts. There’s just something so charming about the old wood doors and huge windows. Despite being surrounded by farmland there are some huge spruce trees that surround the home, which can be seen from almost every window. The families that used to live there must have had a constant connection to nature. Being there is a nice reminder to keep my living space as connected to the outdoors as much as possible. It just makes you feel good.
